I had the same issue with My Max8. What it was was the order in which I shutdown my applications. I use Outlook with Maximizer. If I closed Maximizer, then Outlook, I would get that message when I shutdown the computer.

If I close Outlook first, then Maximizer, no message.

I'm not an expert, but I believe the Pervasive engine has links so Maximizer can communicate with Outlook and I think they don't release when Maximizer is closed first.

Interestingly, if I do close Maximizer first, I can't even read Outlook e-mails...Outlook tells me there is another program communicating with it that has unexpectidly shutdown.

I hope this helps you!

Hmmm ... we use Outlook with Max and don't even open Outlook directly. Simply log into Max, and use the Email button to access personal folders, compose, send/receive, etc. WHen we close Max the email shuts down as well. That would take away the need to shut down Outlook at all. Mind you, this is with Max 7 and Pervasive Workgroup.

Hi. I am having the same issue on our machine. i found that closing the maxexchange from the system tray resolves the problesm. If you go into the pervasinve monitor-microkernel-users you can see that the maxexchange program is using it. i received a responce from maximizer and they said it is a know issue and that it may be resolved in a future release. I have been trying windows shutdown scripts to manually kill the spdm.exe process but I don't think they start in time. Has anybody else found out something that works. thank you
