I'm trying to install the default portals that come with our server installation CD of v9.5 eCRM.
We have two machines I'm trying to get it to work on. One is a virtual pc 2004 instance. The other is a virtual server 2003 instance. Both have working Maximizer installations, the virtual server instance has installed portals, the virtual pc instance doesn't (didn't bother with it at the time during install). Things are fine and happy.
Now I want to use the portals for development purposes. The virtual machine installation refuses to run the portals. I get 403 forbidden errors there. Tried tampering with user rights, to no effect. The web.config files are set to enable the portals, and I can't find what I'm doing wrong.
The virtual pc instance refuses to even install the portals. I tried running setup from the Server installation CD, tagged the "Portals" Companion-option to install the portals, then watched the installer complete. No portals, not even *anywhere on the harddrive*! I checked with a file search - the portals are nowhere to be found. The installer insists that they are installed though I tried copying the default portal directories&files from the virtual server installation to the virtual pc instance, checked all the XML files, and added 4 virtual directories to the virtual pc's IIS. The effect: the same 403 forbidden error as the virtual server is giving me
Any thoughts? I'd really appreciate some help.
