No. MaxExchange Server uses its own FTP server component. You appear to have Microsoft's FTP server running on the machine as well...

...so you need to either

- disable it, or

- reconfigure it (or reconfigure MaxExchange) so they are listening on different ports.

When I connected to the FTP, I enter " maxexchange" and When the system ask me for the password, it doesn't match.

You could try resetting the FTP password on the MaxExchange Server; maybe the password isn't what you think it is....

p.s. You have disabled the Microsoft FTP service, right?

No, when I disabled the Microsoft FTP service on my server (W2K), I cannot connect it through the command line.
On the other side, I usually synchronised with the network direct method and I change for FTP with the same machine without reset it; Is it fine?

Other qustion: my server is behind a router which has a static and public IP (62.160.39.6) and the port 21 is translated on the private IP on my server. Can it works?

I connected successfully troughdmin my FTP as Admistrator. i needed to configure it through my server W2K. But when you said that Maxexchange as your own FTP component, is it works as a service or where I can see it?

Gord's right. You need someone there to help you.

MaxExchange Server is its own self-contained FTP server. If you have another FTP server running on the same port on the same machine where MaxExchange Server is installed, you're going to have problems. Either disable the other FTP server or change MaxExchange to run on a port other than 21.

If you don't know much about ports and FTP and the like, you should really have someone come in to help you.

Thank you very for your advice Jake (and Gord). I change the port 21 for 20 for the Window's FTP service (of W2K) and now I can connect through Maxexchange by the command line.
I am trying synchronise mt database with my remote with a dialup modem (56K) and it is really long but it seems to work. Thanks.....
