In Max 7 under File - Preferences - Email there are 2 checkboxes for Read and Compose Email using EMail Service Provider's editor. When those are checked, you get to use a "light" version of Outlook, which at least allows for HTML and RFT format emails with all the formatting that implies. However, after rebuilding my profile, from within Max when I click on an email to read it it flashes then nothing happens. Same effect when I click on the "New" button. If I uncheck these boxes I can successfully use Max's email editor to read & compose the same messages, and I can read & compose ok from Outlook directly.

This worked fine for our first 5 users, then didn't work for the next 2 we added. We just went through a profile revuild on the server due to other issues, now this doesn't work for the users it had worked for before. We're using Outlook 2000, Max 7, Windows 2000 on the server and running under Terminal Services.

Thanx for any help getting this back working - the Max editor is terrible!

More info after extensive trouble-shooting Friday :

We can get the "Compose" option to work with Outlook Express no problem. However, as soon as we change the Internet Options > Default Email Program to Outlook, it breaks for "Compose" and simply doesn't work for "Read". So it appears Max is making the MAPI call but for some reason Outlook is not responding. As further info, we did get this to work with Outlook on one station (one Terminal Services ID) by integrating successfully to Outlook Express first, then changing to Outlook as the default email client - that appeared to do something that allowed Outlook to work. However, that solution hasn't worked on any other terminals/TS ID's so now we're even more mystified.

Any other ideas/experiences?
