We're very close to purchasing MaxDoc but haven't decided on whether to store documents & emails in Max or externally and link to them. Issues are database size/performance, fragility/consequences of breaking links to external documents/emails, etc., and general longer term maintenance.
We currently have 5800 Address Book entries and will have a medium to large volume of emails and documents. For instance, current (very poorly groomed) Outlook PST files are 800MB in size after 18 months in operation - could definitely be shrunk but still significant, and we plan on growing the business 50%+ over the next 1-2 years.
Recommendations? Best Practices?
