Remove and re-install Maximizer 10. Will that affect database?

Hi,
I can't get Maximizer 10 to do backups any more. I'm planning on removing and re-installing. I don't know anything about SQL databases. I'm guessing removing Maximizer won't affect the database? When I reinstall I can re-connect to my contact database (if I can find it).

thanks for any tips on the procedure or alternatives? My only backup of the database in the weekly image of the harddrive.

If Maximizer is working normally then re-installing is unlikely to help this situation. Quick back-ups are most likely to fail because either you are not backing up to the c: drive or you have compression enabled on the c: drive. While you can back-up to other drives this does not always work because SQL does not always have the correct permissions.

Thanks for the tips, I'll see what changes have happened to permissions etc. I'm backing up to a drive partition (D
