I have a industrial category in my UDF's Called "Mining"

I wish to create a new category called "Mineral Processing" from approximately 50% of the Mining Category. Easy so far.

I now need to remove the "mining" udf check from the former mining group who are now mineral processing.

I could export them all to a temporary Address Book and strip the mining udf from them and then import them bvack into the main address book. But there has to be an easier way.

Any ideas?

A Global Edit can also be used to modify UDFs, but your choices are

(1) add the selected items to the existing items for each address book entry, or

(2) replace the existing items with the selected items for each address book entry.

So say you have a UDF called "snacks" which can be one or more of [popcorn, pretzels, chips], and you have an address book entry where "popcorn" is selected. If you do a Global Edit and select "chips" then option (1) will give you [popcorn, chips] and option (2) will give you just [chips].

So in your case you can use Global Edit by selecting the address book entries you want to modify, identifying all of the unique combinations of items for that UDF (excluding the "Mining" item you intend to remove), and then perform a "replace" Global Edit for each combination.

I hope that's clear. If not, please post back here and I'll try to explain it better.
