We are running Microsoft Server 2003 and Windows XP on the workstations and are looking at upgrading to CRM 10, Pro addtion from Maximizer 9. Since CRM 10 it is based on the Microsoft sequel engine, do we also require to also purchase Microsoft SQL licenses.

HI,

It depends the version you will choose. Maximizer crm PRO and Enterprise requires you to buy SQL cal. MAximizer CRM GROUP Edition uses SQL express which is free.

Professional and Enterprise Editions of Maximizer can also run on top of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition if desired. You'll have to install SQL_Express yourself and you'll be limited to 4GB database size (that's a built-in limitation of SQL_Express), but it will work.

Thanks you both. Since ee are looking at Pro and are nearing the 4 gig limit i quess it is clear we have to use the server edtion.

I have noticed that almost everyone mentions SQL 2005 and not SQL 2008. Is there any reason we should be looking at 2005 instead or SQL 2008?
