Good Morning.

When changing passwords for Maximizer user accounts (including MASTER) then you must make the change in Maximizer. Open the Administrator and log into the address book in question, click File>>Users and highlight the user record you want to change the password for, then click 'Password' and change the account password.

When you click ok you will be asked if you want to make the change for just that address book or for all all address books, if you answer 'for all address books' the password will be updated for everything.

Be aware though that under MS SQL 2005 if your network uses a password policy then the SQL Server will also require the Maximizer Passwords to meet that criteria. An article explaining this, including a workaround can be found here:

Sorry made a spelling mistake. I meant to say was (I'm UNABLE to login as MASTER in Max). I followed the steps in >Max Admin Guide for moving a SQL Database, as soon as I get to the step where I have to change the MASTER Password in SQL 2005, I'm UNABLE to log into Max (Restored Database) as MASTER. Before I changed the MASTER password in SQL 2005 I could log into Escona Tutorial and I create a new database in Max and I was able to log into that database as well. But as soon as I change the MASTER password in SQL 2005 so that I can log into the Restored Database, I’m Unable to log into any Database >Escona and the New database I created
I found a workaround for the problem

From the new server with SQL 2005 and Maximizer installed, I connected to the SQL 2000 Server through Max SQL 2005 and employed an existing address Book browsed to where the database is sitting on the SQL 2000 server so that I’m connected to the original database. Then I created a new database in Maximizer so that it is a SQL 2005 database, then I transferred all the data from the original SQL 2000 database to the new SQL 2005 database.
