Is there anyway to switch from pervasive to Sql, without killing our budget. We have licensed SQL server , but to use Max on them the price is about double the pervasive license?

Actually, I believe that the list price for CRM SQL is the same as for CRM Pervasive. (eCRM SQL is the version that is considerably more expensive.)
The differences between CRM Pervasive and CRM SQL are:
- for Pervasive client-server you need Pervasive.SQL licenses, and for MS.SQL you need MS.SQL licenses.
- for the MS.SQL versions you must purchase a Maintenance and Support contract from Maximizer (approx. $100/user/year).
Call 1-800-624-4153 and ask for the name of a Business Partner who can help you pin down the actual costs in your case.
