Start Date missing when Opportunity Created

Strange one this. For some reason and suddenly, each time I create an Opportunity, the start date is omitted in the listing, and is just blank. For Opportunities created previously the start date is present.

Entering into the newly created Opportunity clearly shows the creation date.

Any ideas on what would suddenly cause this?
