synchronization problem with Treo 700P via Maxlink

I am new to Maximizer. Whenever I try to synchronize Maximizer address book with the Treo via Maxlink(local USB connection). Regardless the synchronization or global settings, the program would stall at 37% while "reading from Maximizer". There are approximately 6500 entries on the address book and ~32MB free memory on the Treo. In addition, there is no record of the failing synchronization on the Hotsync log file.
I have even freed up more memory on the Treo, but it still to no avail.
There is apparently no reference on Maximizer KB or FAQ to this particular issue.
