This sounds to me like the Maxsync add in has not been loaded into Maximizer. The easiest way to resolve this problem is to open Maximizer go to File, preferences, this will display a form, click the button system options, this will give the option of whether to synchronize Maximizer to Outlook, and / or Outlook to Maximizer.
Beware though, due to the different ways that Maximizer and Outlook handle group meetings you may get Calendar clashes reported in Outlook
However if you only ever use appointments with one member of the Maximizer users attending you should be fine.
