We have two networked computers that both want to run Max 7. I have set up a network drive (z:/ that does work fine) to the folder that contains the DB.

1) I go to the file menu and click Add New Address Book option. I browse to z:/ and click ok.
2)A popup asks tells me that Maximizer files have been found in z:/ do I want to use them (great it has connect to the network drive and sees the files) so I click OK. Then I wait and wait and wait and nothing happens...eventually the little hour glass/busy mouse cursor goes to a normal mouse cursor and nothing has happened. If I wait 30 mins nothing...

3) If I click OK on the OK button again for the intial popup that allows me to browse to z:/ (step 1) I go throught the same steps again, but with the same result...NOTHING

Any ideas? My guess is that the Maximizer DB on the network drive is too big and it just plain times out...If that is the case is there a solution????

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

There are two things you can try here.

1. Make sure that all the PCs in question have the Simple File Sharing option turned off. To do this go to My Computer and click Tools>>Options, then click on the second tab 'View' and in the Advanced Options scroll down to the bottom and untick 'Use Simple File Sharing'.

2. Make sure that all users have full control to the share folder. To do this go to the PC sharing the folder and click find the shared folder, right click on it and choose 'Sharing and Security'. On the sharing screen choose 'Permissions' and make sure that Everyone is set to 'Full Control'.

If it still doesn't work then I would also suggest you double check that your gateway is configured correctly. (See attached Document for instructions)
