updating data base

my data base has 18000 entries. I have an excel file which has updated info on 600 entries. Some of these 600 are new some are updates and some are the same as the entry that is already in Maximzer. What is the best way of incorporating these 600 entries into the data base.

New = Use Max Import routine

Updates/Same = Manual review and edit; Other option is use Max Import to create duplicate entries, then merge/copy info from one to the other, deciding on a case-by-case basis which should be the "master".

This is based on Max 7. MaxExchange I believe has some excellent additional capabilities for this you may wish to explore.

Future = Do everything in Max.
