We have maximizer 8 installed on our server with a 5 user license. We have had it for a few years, initially just a single license, then 2 and then we upgraded to 5 licenses 2 years ago.

The two main users of the product constantly complain about it crashing, causing their pc to hang and generally being a problem. So, we are considering upgrading but I'm not convinced this will do any good.

The address book that we connect to is quite large...(2gig) Does anyone know if this is the issue and if so will upgrading to 10 help? If we do go to 10, I understand there are a number of different options. Which do we choose?

Heelllllllllllpppppppp...

Hi Darren,

We use maximizer 9 Enterprise in our office here, but have also used version 8 previously. We have about 16 users with an 8gb or so database - using the pervasive engine (which I hate with a passion, unfortunately it was purchased before I got here).

I think it just goes with maximizer that there are always random and unexplainable crashes and problems with it. Not once have we had an installation that didn't have it's own niggling issues, I've just accepted that's how the software is and to work with it.

Don't get me wrong, it's good software for our purposes, it just never seems entirely polished.

Upgrading to version 10 has been on my mind also, mainly for SQL server and web accessibility options. However I dont know if that will be any more stable than the previously released versions.

Best of luck to you Smile
