So after being a Maximizer fan since Maximizer 95 I thought it might upgrade to CRM12 Entrepreneur Addition. There no longer seems to be an upgrade choice any more, only what they call "Full Addition", whatever that means.

However, the thing that stops me in my tracks is, can I be reading this right, $478 Canadian? Maximizer, are you kidding me? I am a single user that only uses the product for myself. Can I be correct in the vibes I've been getting that Maximizer isn't interested in guys like me anymore in favor of corporate customers, I hope not. Otherwise CRM11 will probably be the last version of Maximizer I ever buy.

I am a multi-user of maximizer since 1999 and upgraded to CRM12 5 months ago. It is very unstable. Within 30 days it began to lockup every couple weeks now its several times a day. If you upgrade you'd better budget $$$ & lots of frustration time for very unfriendly support. Just call 1 888 745-4645 press 1 and listen what you are in for.
Bigguy: Upgrades for Maximizer 12 can be purchased from Advoco Solutions at approx 250$CD. I suspect that if you are being quoted nearer 500$CD then you are being quoted for the Group or Enterprise versions of the product.

NG: Sorry to hear you are having problems with the product. Maximizer 12 is a stable product and generally performs well on Windows 7 computers that are less than 2 years old. In our experience this kind of instability can arise from installation on older computers which may have underlying networking issues, over aggressive anti virus software or other underlying problems (eg malware). If you have a specific repeatable issue with the installation then you could post details of it here or it may be worth you considering purchasing a remote support incident from us at www.advoco-solutions.co.uk or by calling 0345 2608801

I decided to respond to this post rather than make my original comment and walk away without a followup. Unfortunately I have made the decision to leave Maximizer CRM and chosen to go with Sage ACT 2013 at this time, a decision that wasn't easy, but I did so because quite frankly they seem to still value small business.

As stated in my original post, I used Maximizer CRM since Maximizer 97. Back then I felt the product catered to small businesses like my own, but over time your company has gradually, I believe, abandoned small businesses (1 to 5 users) in favour of your larger corporate clients. OK, fair ball, you probably don't make a lot of money off of guys like me. I'm a businessman myself so I understand that, but remember one thing, many larger corporate companies started out as small companies. When a company expands do you want to be the product they've been using, because at that point it may be harder to pick them up as a customer if they have been using one of your competitors products.

My comment is not intended to be sarcastic in any way, but don't forget your roots, don't forget where you come from.

Been there, done that, as stated before, I believe Maximizer CRM is no longer a company that caters to small business. I started realizing this after purchasing an upgrade, a number of versions ago, and had trouble installing it. I called Tech Support and waited over 1/2 hour for someone to answer. OK, so they were busy, I understand that. When the CSR finally answered my call he introduced himself with his first name and asked if I had a tech support subscription, which I didn't. I explained that I was just installing the product, but he refused to help unless I gave him a credit card number. He then gave me another number for "free" tech support, I hung up and called the number and after waiting another 1/2 hour the SAME GUY ANSWERED THE PHONE FOR THE FREE SUPPORT! LOL!

It might have been an isolated incident, but it was just another example of the larger problem of Maximizer's attitude towards smaller companies. They were only interested in companies with the big bucks. Hope the new business model works out for them, unfortunately my pockets weren't deep enough to stick around. Overall, I still believe their product is a good one, just too rich for me.

Hi Bigguy, I don't suppose you are able to advise what you changed to? Just about at my wits end with Max 12, Repeated failures and reactivation of license. No more features than my old Max 6 had. At the point now where asked for activation and told already registered. I object to paying for something that as a stand alone user I should not have to register online and be told my activation is already used. Have uninstalled several times now, basically fed up with it. Max 6 was never that stable, but at least you could delete and reinstall, cleaning the registry. Almost impossible with this version!
I also just discovered that Vancouver wants $478 for the single user edition (been loving it since the DOS version). I'm getting an new Windows 8 PC so must upgrade from Maximizer 10. Maximizer is the only think keeping me from going to a Mac (don't want to run Windows in a Mac).

Which version can I buy from you and at what price? Will any support questions be handled in the UK or Canada (I live near Detroit, Michigan).

Thanks in advance.
Dear Bob

Assuming you are referring to the Entrepreneur edition you can purchase a single user and download the software from crmshop.co.uk. It is possible that you are being quoted for Group edition which is a more expensive and significantly more capable product

We provide support from the UK through CRMShop and this does not generally entitle you to contracted support that might be available to you from Vancouver if you had purchased directly from them.

I am blown away by how stupid Multiactive has become.

I was at work and we wanted to buy 2 more licenses for Maximizer 10 Entrepreneur CRM to set up a multi-user setup.

They wouldn't sell it to us, and were forcing us to upgrade to some other version. All we wanted was the add-on license keys, not the software and not support. It was rediculous. What should have cost us about $199 per user they were pitching that it would cost us about $499. We didn't bite on the scam and just left it as a single user setup.

I switch companies and get them ready to go on a Maximizer solution. Unfortunately the firm is slow to migrate away from XP, and I've tried the web cloud version, and compared to the standalone version it totally sucks, plus our firm has high security and I doubt most of the plugins for printing etc. would even work.

They tell me the only version they can sell me is "Group" which doesn't work on XP, and he wont sell me the version that will. I'm looking for 3-5 licenses which isnt a huge install but at $200 a pop is a $1000 sale.

I am an expert and have been using Maximizer since 1995 so I dont need help installing.

What the heck has happened to this company? Are they trying to run it into the ground? This is two seperate instances where I've tried to buy and install their software and I just hit a brick wall. Plus their prior $199 per seat pricing has gone through the roof and they are trying to push us onto their ****py web based platform.

I've used the web based version and was appalled at how much was missing. My old firm offered the web based cloud platform and I was trying to help someone in the office who was using it - and the features I was talking about just didn't exist.

I find it absolutely incredible that these people would create such a fantastic well used product and just kill it.

Whoever is in charge of this company is a few fries short of a happy meal. I've never heard of a company that is more than happy to turn down customers on multiple occasions.

Give me a break they "dont have access to those Maximizer 10 license keys" anymore. It's just an algorhythm that generates keys that the software will accept. If they're going to be that silly, why not just publish an unlimited user key so users of their software can use the installation that they currently have if they refuse to sell more keys.

Ugh. How frustrating.
