Can anyone help? We currently run Maximizer 6 Enterprise sp2 and have upgraded some machines to XP. This has caused problems for the XP users especially with editing UDF's or adding to UDF's. Also, under XP certain searches no longer work. Maximizer are totally unhelpful simply stating that XP is not supported so buy the new one or leave us alone. My question is how different or better and in what way is the latest version of Maximizer Enterprise, I beieve this is 7.5 and how easy is it to upgrade. We run the pervasive database system/version. Will I encounter lots of problems and therefore would I be better off looking at a different package. Considering the unhelpful nature of Multiactive/Maximizer I am loathe to buy their product if it is no better than what I have when a change of product might cure my problems.

this is known problem with Pre-Maximizer 7 versions of Maximizer for Windows 2000 and XP, where as it is appreciated that this has probably never been seen by yourselves on a Windows 2000 or XP machine before, there are any number of combinations of 'other' programs or components that cause these problems.

Please see the KnowledgeBase Article for a list of (at this time) known programs and components that cause problems, also please also note the reference to Display Drivers, as if none of the programs listed actually run on the effected machine then the problem may very well be an incorrect Display Driver.

As far as I am aware all the drivers are up to date XP verified drivers. This is only happening on the XP machines. The machines running Windows 2000 work absolutely fine. What else in XP could be causing me this grief?

Can you tell me if upgrading to Enterprise 7.5 would be an operation littered with problems, i.e. the pervasive database etc. or is it straightforward - i.e. just picking up where we left off kind of thing?
Maximizer 7.5 undoubtably runs better as it was developed and tested on the XP platform.

But i am not going to say it will be entirly problem free, try and find an infallible software or hardware product!

Did any of the background programs show up?

It will be very straight forward to upgrade, me personally though, i remove older versions of Maximizer first.

After making copies of Data.
