Maximizer 12 CRM (Summer 2013) Integration with Word 2007

We installed Maximizer years ago, and have upgraded since to CRM12. Over the years have also upgraded MS Office. When we upgraded MS Word 2003 to 2007, the Maximizer menu options disappeared, but previously created templates still merged. Recently MS Windows upgraded itself to Win10 and now templates do not merge, showing a message that "the remote data (CurrentRecord) is not accessible. Do you want to start the application MAXWIN?" Maximizer is running. I can map to the server where the database is located. Any suggestions how to troubleshoot?

Thanks for the reply. When opening the template, Maximizer is open and record selected. As stated, the merge worked prior to Win 10 upgrade, but now it does not. Additionally, the menu option to "Open Microsoft Word" under Maximizer Tools menu is grayed out as though the two applications no longer see each other on this client. Trying to get them to talk again.
