I have a 2 license setup of Max 9 and just set up a separate server for my business. One of the problems that we have been experiencing has been trying to remember to keep my wife's computer going so that when I want to get on with the database, I can.

Hopefully, now with a serparate server, which is left on all the time, this isn't going to be an issue anymore. However, I cannot figure out how to do this. During a fresh installation of Max 9 it would not allow me to select the server as the destination for the address book. I wanted me to select a "local" folder, which ultimately I did. I am wondering if there is a way to store my address book on a file server without having to have a 3rd license?

Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

You'll need to install Maximizer_9 on the server. That will not prevent you from installing it on the two workstations. The license count restriction applies to:

- the number of enabled Maximizer users, and

- the number of concurrent connections to Pervasive.SQL.

You may also want to have the Pervasive Workgroup Engine run as a service on the server machine. There is a utility to help you with that here.
